The upcoming Windows 8 tablets have more in common with Apple's iPads than we initially thought. According to Microsoft, the Windows 8 tablet version of Internet Explorer will be plug-in free, which means no Flash support.
In a post on the Internet Explorer blog, the "Metro-style" version of IE will only support HTML 5, like the iPad. This is because Microsoft claims a plug-in free IE "improves battery life as well as security, reliability, and privacy for consumers."
"Plug-ins were important early on in the web’s history. But the web has come a long way since then with HTML5," wrote Dean Hachomovitch, who leads the IE team at Microsoft.
Adobe offered a rebuttal on their blog, in a post titled "Flash Support on Windows 8 and Metro." They emphasized the support for Flash on the Windows 8 desktop version (a more traditional-style OS, instead of the touch-based tablet version). In addition, they pointed to Machinarium on the iPad as an example of a game built with Flash, but then sold on the App Store as a standalone application.

If the had used an other development tool than flash it would also run on iPad 1.
it may be time for Adobe to rebuild Flash from the ground up...
