UPDATE: August 2nd, 2010
We have the winners for our latest contest. Find out who won, as well as what early first-person shooters got people into the genre, all after the break.
And our winners are...
@SteveBJones
@PIZZIRANI
@GreyCrow02
@TorreSex
And here are some of the gateway games that turned people on to first-person shooters over the years: Doom for the PC and SNES, Rainbow Six, Quake, Wolfenstein 3D, Star Fox (?), Duke Nukem, and Resident Evil (Wii). That's quite the mix of old-school and modern games.
Tune in later this week for another great giveaway!
Many would argue that Doom was the breakthrough game for the first-person shooter genre. It wasn't he first, but it brought a new class of gamers into the mix. If imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, then consider Doomsday: Hellraiser HD quite flattering. We're giving away four codes for the game this week. Find out how to snag one.

Doomsday: Hellraiser HD (3D FPS)
