Make Room for the New IKEA App

If you don't mind assembling your own furniture, then IKEA is the place for you. The popular and iconic retail stores have been providing home furnishings for decades, and most everyone has browsed through one of their printed catalogs. Now you can do it right from your iPad.

The app is deceptively small. The App Store tells you that it's a 2.6MB download. Once you boot up the app, though, you're in for a roughly 470MB download of the actual current catalog. In other words, you'll need free space and some patience before you're thumbing through the virtual pages.

Still, the iPad catalog has been spruced up with video and sound, so there's a good reason for the extra heft.

Just like their store layout--and the furniture itself--the design is trendy and modern. Navigation is easy, and exploring is fun. And, of course, as it's really nothing but a big advertisement, it's free to download.
