There's no doubt that the Apple iPad is the dominant tablet computer. Its dominance covers the corporate world as well as the consumer space. Good Technology recently released data that was gathered by surveying "thousands of corporate and government organizations" and found that 94 percent of total tablet activations in Q4 2012 were iPad and iPad 2 tablets. Check out some additional details below.

Here's an excerpt from the press release:

Apple dominated in the tablet market, with the iPad and iPad 2 accounting for 94 percent of total tablet activations in Q4 2011. This compares to 6 percent for Android tablets, where the Samsung Galaxy Tab has consistently been the most popular Android tablet among Good’s users.

Depending on whose numbers you believe, the iPad is even more dominant in the corporate space than the consumer one. There are a few reasons for this. First, Apple has been improving the security features of iOS and it has gotten to the point where many IT managers have no problem deploying iPads for business use. Secondly, there isn't a tablet equivalent of a BlackBerry, with it's ultra-secure BlackBerry Enterprise Server. With its improved security features and relatively safe walled garden of apps, it's no surprise that the iPad is the leading choice for businesses.

Any of you surprised by the iPad's dominance in the corporate world?
