Chop Chop Soccer Preview

Preview Posted by Tim Rattray, July 21st, 2010

Gamerizon recently gave us some details on their latest installment in the Chop Chop series, Chop Chop Soccer. Like all the other games in the series, it uses touch-based controls, meaning there aren’t any onscreen buttons to muck up your view. We’ve got a trailer, screenshots, and more information on the game after the jump.

Much like the controls in Chop Chop Tennis, you’ll guide a three-man soccer team with a series of swipes and taps using only one finger. It’s certainly ambitious, but we've been impressed by this developer's abilities before.

The game will feature 12 teams, including World Cup finalists Spain and the Netherlands, four difficulty levels, four tournaments, and four stadiums. Two of the stadiums are Trocadéro, Paris, and the Pyramids in Egypt. Plus, there will be five tutorial levels to start you off. The developers have also stated that they will continue to support the game with new teams, modes, and other content post-release.

Possibly the most interesting aspect of Chop Chop Soccer is the level of depth they are adding to teams. Each team is rated based on three stats: offense, defense, and goalie. No two teams will be the same, even if their stats are similar. This is because each has their own style of play, such as what kind of passes and shots they perform, how they defend the ball, how active the goalie gets in the game, and so on.

Chop Chop Soccer will be released for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad this summer, meaning it could be out any day now. In the meantime, check out the gameplay video below for a look at the game in action.
