First Looks: Bleacher Report Team Stream HD

Bleacher Report has updated its Team Stream HD app with full iPad support. The app is kind of like Flipboard for sports enthusiasts. It allows you to create a custom news feed full of the sports and teams you like (and even WWE news, for those of you that enjoy “sports entertainment”). I’ve spent a few hours with the app and love what it does. I just wish it did it better. Read on for more details.  Read More →

Invoxia’s NVX 610 is a Powerful and Versatile iOS VoIP Accessory

Invoxia-NVX-610-icon.jpg

One of the most impressive iPad and iPhone accessories I saw at CES was Invoxia’s NVX 610. This unique product offers voice-over-IP calling, a corporate-quality speakerphone, and great speakers for music playback. It’s a beautiful device — one of the few third-party accessories that could pass for an Apple product — and works very well from what I was shown. However, it’s easy to mistake the NVX 610 for something that it’s not. Read on for some original pictures, details, and first impressions of the NVX 610.  Read More →

Razer made quite a splash at CES 2012 with Project Fiona, a high-end gaming tablet featuring an Intel i7 processor, Windows operating system, and unique controller wings. Samsung Galaxy Note (AT&T) Hands-On Preview

Galaxy-Note-white-small.jpg

Samsung was showing off the Galaxy Note for AT&T at Pepcom’s Digital Experience event last night. Referred to by many as a “Phablet”, the Galaxy Note packs a 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED Screen. Unusually, it’s bigger than most phones and smaller than most tablets. The idea is that this product will offer the best of both worlds. An international GSM version has been available since October 2011. Samsung is partnering with AT&T to bring the Galaxy Note to America in the near future. Read on for specs, hands-on impressions, and original photos of the Samsung Galaxy Note for AT&T.  Read More →

First Look: Skitch for iPad

Skitch is one of my favorite apps for Mac OS and Android. It’s fantastic for adding annotations to screen shots, clearing up directions on maps, and making photos goofy. In the words of the developer it lets you, “Use shapes, arrows, sketches and text annotation to get your point across fast. Mark up photos, screenshots, maps, and webpages then share them with anyone you like.” Thankfully, Skitch is now available for iPad. Here’s a quick look at this fine app.  Read More →

First Look: Google Currents

Google recently released Google Currents for Android and iOS. In many ways, this news-curation app is similar to the outstanding Flipboard. In some ways, it’s very different. Google Currents is off to a fantastic start, but its lack of social features — especially the lack of deep Google+ integration — is puzzling. Check out my first impressions and several screens of Google Currents.  Read More →

First Look: My Xbox Live for iPad

Microsoft recently released the My Xbox Live app for iOS, which allows Xbox 360 gamers to access their Xbox Live accounts on their iPads and iPhones. The app lets gamers view videos and news on the latest Xbox 360 happenings, browse through their games and achievements, and interact with their Xbox Live friends. While two of those three features aren’t that big of a deal, the app shines as a mobile social-networking extension of Xbox Live. Read on for some impressions and screens.  Read More →
