Slide To Play Q and A: Michael Jackson: The Experience for iPad

At a press event in late October, we had a chance to go hands-on with a number of upcoming Ubisoft iOS games. One of the biggest surprises was Michael Jackson: The Experience for iPad, a rhythm game with some of the most realistic dancing animation and music video visuals we've seen in an iOS game. We spoke with Nathanial Tam, designer for MJ: The Experience, about what to expect when the game launches this Thursday for $4.99.

Steve Jobs Has Passed Away

The man who was CEO of Apple from 1997 until just over a month ago has passed away, at age 56. Readers of this site will likely remember Steve Jobs as the man who helped bring some of our favorite technology to life, including the iPod, iPhone, and iPad.

Disney Appmates Hands-On Preview

Ask any iPad-owning parent, and they'll tell you kids today have developed a natural affinity for the iPad. Something about the super-simple touch interface connects kids to these devices instantly. Disney, which has always made technology seem magical, is creating a brand-new iPad interface called Appmates, which will let kids control a Cars-themed iPad game using actual toys.

Windows 8 Tablets Pass on Flash, Adobe Responds

The upcoming Windows 8 tablets have more in common with Apple's iPads than we initially thought. According to Microsoft, the Windows 8 tablet version of Internet Explorer will be plug-in free, which means no Flash support.

ZDNet: Windows 8 Tablets May Compete, Someday

Tech sites are abuzz this week over Windows 8, an upcoming operating system from Microsoft that will be a direct competitor to iPads, but won't be available until late next year. ZD Net recently ran an interesting analysis stating that Microsoft may have already fallen behind.

Steve Jobs Resigns As Apple CEO

Today, Apple CEO Steve Jobs resigned his position, saying he could "no longer meet [his] duties and expectations." Jobs recommended Tim Cook as Apple's new CEO, which the Apple Board of Supervisors immediately approved. Jobs has also been elected as Apple's Chairman of the Board. Apple Has More Cash Than The US Government

Due to the budget and debt-limit shenanigans in Washington DC, the U.S. Government currently has an operating balance of $73.768 billion. Apple, meanwhile, reported last quarter that they've got $75.876 billion. Does this mean Uncle Sam will soon be replaced with Uncle Steve? [via Financial Post]

Former Pixar Animator Creates Best-Selling iPad eBook
